Located on the rooftop of /fren’sisko/, a new Kimpton Hotel commanding pride of place in the trendy SOMA District of San Francisco, Emperor Norton’s offers
farm-to-table dining featuring the best and freshest of locally sourced ingredients.
Inspired by the eccentric character of its namesake, Emperor Norton’s seasonal menus are updated monthly to showcase the flavors and cuisine of San Francisco’s cultural heritage. Large parties may book the Emperor’s Room — featuring panoramic views of the Bay Area.
Self proclaimed Emperor Norton was a beloved, eccentric character (in the 1880's) that would wonder around the streets of San Francisco. He would check on the well being of the city and its people. Norton had a standing reservation at every restaurant and a theater wouldn't have an opening night without him in attendance. His eccentric appearance, behavior and lifestyle serves as the inspiration for this farm-to-table fine dining restaurant.

Founder James Westbrook began to experiment with putting a modern boozy twist on ice cream. James worked to combine the best of both worlds and infused traditional ice cream flavors with different liquors. The ambiance of the ice cream shop works to combine the feel of a traditional ice cream parlor and the experience of a pub. Loopy scoops also provides non-alcoholic ice cream treats (sober scoops).
